ABSA CAPE EPIC
2016
Prologue : Meerendal : 25 km (Sunday 13 March 2016)
I arrived at the Prologue extremely late around 11am, most rider already left Meerendal. But imagine my luck when as I'm driving to Meerendal I pass the Pros, doing their warm up and heading towards Meerendal to start their race. First up was Team Bulls Karl Platt and Urs Huber. And second was Christoph Sauser and Sipho Madolo, I was overwhelmed. Both times I passed the gentlemen, rode to a place where I could stop and ran out with camera in hand. I clicked, waved, smiled and shouted their names. I couldn't stop looking at my pics, and i thought , "welcome back to the Epic darling, its gonna be a blast". This was a great intro to my week as an Epic Volunteer. Eventually got to Meerendal and took a few pics there, before I headed to our first race village in Saronberg Wine Estate. It was great to see and catch up with our old crew from 2015.
